NC Triangle Gluten Intolerance Fair

Banana Quinoa Cake with Cinnamon Almond Butter Icing - Gluten Free

Greetings!

TGIF!

The past few months have been very full, but that is the good part!

Over the past few years, I have come across some wonderful people, places, and resources for gluten-free and healthy living both near and far.

But we don’t have much in the way of a local center for these resources…

Aha!
I am in the planning stages of a gluten-free health and food fair for the Triangle, the NC Triangle Gluten Intolerance Fair or #NCTGIF!

There is a nice expo in Charlotte end of this month, by the way!

But it would be great to have a hyper-local event with just a few corporate sponsors, so we are more aware of local businesses and resources as we go about our daily routines. Here are just a few of the wonderful people we would like to have on board:

Registered dietitians and health/medical professionals to give presentations, gluten-free vendors for health, beauty, and certified gluten-free food products, volunteers to help things run smoothly, food vendors with allergen-friendly offerings (must meet regs), and last but not least, a few corporate-level certified gluten free, health, or medical sponsors who are dedicated to and knowlegable concerning food allergen awareness.

This will not be a huge blowout kind of event. It will be smaller but meaningful to those of us who live here and provide timely resources and information.

I am in contact with a local charity who could benefit from receiving a portion of the proceeds as well. This could be really great. Please let me know if you are interested and we can discuss further details. Any ideas, suggestions, or information are completely welcome. Email to writeztuff97 at gmail dot com please. We have a lot of wonderful events here, but not really gluten or allergen-centric. If anyone knows of anything in the works, perhaps we can all collaborate!
Happy and Healthy Eating!
